This is our story. The why's and wherefore of how we got into this sport and this breed.

We started originally in Gordon Setters. Our daughter wanted to get into 4H locally and all we had were two elderly dogs at the time.  My husband had seen a Gordon Setter at the vets office at one point and thought them beautiful dogs. So wanting to fulfill her wishes and beggars can't be choosers I agreed. We hunted for a breeder and found a wonderful one locally. From there is escalated.  We spent 15 years in Gordon Setters before getting our first Afghan Hound. She had seen one at a show and absolutely fell in love with it. So from then on she researched and begged and pleaded inbetween the research. When she turned 16 we relented and hunted for a breeder. We were put in touch with Vivienne and Peter Machen of Gypsy Kennels in Canada and purchased our first one. We have since aquired, I believe, 3 more from her kennel and/or stud dogs and have become fully entrneched in this breed. We have since given up Gordon Setters and decided to concentrate our efforts more on the Afghan Hounds. We feel they completely fit ourselves and our lifestyle and are truly in love with this breed.

We have enjoyed much success in the 11 years we've had Afghan Hounds and have just had our first litter in the winter of 2005. We continue to strive for perfection and hope to have many happy years yet to come.
